Blogger Introduction

Hi I’m Rebecca, I live in the West Midlands. My blog BecBec is a lifestyle blog mainly focusing on books, travel and social media.
Why I chose to write about Stoke-on-Trent…
I have chosen Stoke-on-Trent because the place holds special memories for me. It was my University town for three years and I stayed for a further two after. Stoke-on-Trent does have an unfair reputation of being not a great place to live and be in. The city has undergone massive transformation and it really is a great place to live with lots of things to do.
5 things to see and do in Stoke-on-Trent
Trentham Gardens
These lovely gardens are perfect for walking the dog and having a day out in the fresh air. There is also a food and shopping outlet – the monkey gardens are next door and offers the perfect opportunity to get close to them.
Potteries Shopping Centre
This shopping centre has a massive Primark amongst Topshop, H&M and others. There is also a cinema and a massive food court with Frankie and Bennies, Pan Asia, Chiquitos and other food outlets calling it home.
Cycling
Sustain Staffs is a massive project from the council encouraging locals to get on their bikes and explore Stoke. I got a bunch of free maps and spent so many hours cycling across the canal network.
Alton Towers
Need I say more? It is a fab theme park however I love the Alton Towers Spa and have been there a few times with friends, it is good value to use the Aqua Relaxation rooms.
Emma Bridgewater
I love Emma Bridgewater for being able to paint your own pottery. It is costly compared to other pottery places however it really is a lovely memento of your day.
Rebecca’s Recommendation for Food & Drink in Stoke-on-Trent
Pieminister in Trentham Gardens is awesome for great pies and Frankie and Bennies is great for a family meal. If you are in Stoke you need to buy an oatcake from one of the many independent oatcake shops that are around the city.
