Why I chose to write about North London…

I’ve chosen to write about North London because it’s where I grew up and there are so many things to see and do in the area!

5 things to see and do in North London

Wander around the Heath

The Heath is one of the most famous parks in North London, and it is perfect for escaping the crowds in the city. The Heath covers 790 acres and you can expect to find playgrounds, outdoor swimming baths, and a number of cafes.

Climb up Parliament Hill

If you’re staying in North London, be sure to take a stroll up Parliament Hill, which offers spectacular views of the city. Access is free and it’s right next to London Zoo, so you can visit the animals afterwards.

Explore Camden Market

One of my favourite things to do on the weekend is shopping in Camden. It is full of unique stalls and delicious street food.

Find the Peacocks at Holland Park

Head to Holland Park, which is just east of Notting Hill, and see if you can spot the peacocks in the impressive Kyoto Garden.

Shop in the West End

And don’t forget to pop into the iconic Selfridges! Foyles is also worth checking out if you’re a bookworm, and Choccywoccydoodah is perfect for any chocoholics out there!

Cafe Med

Enjoy a Mediterranean-inspired menu in the heart of St john’s Wood. I’d highly recommend the salmon fishcakes

• Walk along Regent’s Canal, which spans from Paddington all the way to Limehouse.
• Watch a musical – my favourites are Wicked, The Lion King and Annie.
• Experience afternoon tea at one of London’s best hotels, for example The Ritz in Piccadilly or The Langham near Oxford Circus.

Food & Drink

• Gilgamesh – satisfy your Pan-Asian cravings in a nightclub-like setting
• Ay Caramba – for tasty Mexican food
• Max Orient – Asian buffet for those on a budget
