Hi, I’m Natasha and I’m a mummy of 4 precious children. My blog MummyToosh began as a ‘dear diary’ space for me and is now my personal lifestyle and parenting blog. I will be writing about the village we live in: Buxton, Norfolk.
Why I chose to write about Buxton…
I have chosen to write about Buxton because it is where we live and are raising our family. My husband John and I moved to Buxton 5 years ago and found it to be the perfect village for us.
2 things to see and do in Buxton
Being a small village we don’t have many amenities, but we have a lovely park and playing field, opposite the pretty church.
There is a small shop and a fish & chip shop.
Buxton Mill
The beauty spot of the village has to be Buxton Mill, which has seen many transformations over the years and has now been converted to apartments for some time. My grandad has a photograph of The Mill on the wall at his house, as he was born and raised in Buxton and attended the school our children go to now. The mill is still a popular place to visit and on a sunny day you will always find people jumping in the water or canoeing on the river Bure.
Buxton Railway Station
Buxton Railway Station is served by the Bure Valley Railway and is a small 15 inch minimum gauge heritage railway. The railway runs from Wroxham to Aylsham, stopping at Buxton in between. It uses both steam and diesel locomotives. It is a huge favourite with children and is a very nostalgic sight. We can hear the Choo Choo of the little engines from our house!
Natasha’s Recommendation for Food & Drink in Buxton
I cannot recommend the Buxton Fish & Chip shop highly enough! I know many customers travel a long way for their Buxton chips, as they are simply the best for miles!
